Source Nodes
Import content from text, YouTube, web pages, images, and PDFs
Source nodes are where you bring in your inspiration. Creatos supports five source types to capture content from anywhere.
Text Source
The most flexible source type - paste or type any content directly.
Use cases:
- Copy-paste from tweets, articles, notes
- Write your own ideas and drafts
- Store reference information
How to use:
- Add a Source node and select Text mode
- Type or paste your content in the content area
- Edit the title by clicking on it in the floating toolbar
- Content saves automatically as you type
YouTube Source
Import YouTube videos along with their transcripts.
What you get:
- Embedded video player (plays directly in the node)
- Auto-extracted transcript (when available)
- Video title extracted automatically
How to use:
- Add a Source node and select YouTube mode
- Paste the YouTube video URL
- Click the import button
- The transcript loads automatically if available
Transcript Availability
Some videos may not have transcripts available. If auto-fetch fails, you'll see instructions to manually copy the transcript from YouTube's caption system.
Web Page Source
Import content from any public web page.
What you get:
- Extracted main article content
- Page title and metadata
- Clean, readable text (HTML stripped)
How to use:
- Add a Source node and select Web mode
- Paste the article URL
- Click import to fetch the content
- The main content is extracted automatically
Upload images and optionally extract text using OCR.
Best for:
- Screenshots of content
- Photos with text
- Infographics and diagrams
How to use:
- Add a Source node and select Image mode
- Upload an image file (drag and drop or click to select)
- The node automatically resizes to fit the image
- Image is uploaded and stored for use in AI prompts
Image Size
Images have a maximum file size limit. Large images will be resized automatically to maintain performance.
PDF Source
Upload PDF documents to extract their text content.
Best for:
- Research papers and reports
- Documents and ebooks
- Any PDF with extractable text
How to use:
- Add a Source node and select PDF mode
- Upload your PDF file
- Text content is automatically parsed and extracted
- PDF title is detected automatically
Saving Sources to Library
Any source can be saved to your Source Library for reuse across workflows:
- Hover over the source node to reveal the floating toolbar
- Click the Bookmark icon to save to library
- If already saved, clicking again will update the saved content
- Saved sources show a blue bookmark indicator
Source Data
When you save a source, the title, content, and any metadata (like URLs for YouTube/Web sources) are preserved.
Connecting Sources to AI
Once you have content in a source:
- Drag from the source's right handle (output) to an AI node's left handle (input)
- The connection creates a variable with the source's title
- In the AI node, reference the source using
{{Source Title}}in your prompts
